Jose Alfaro Vasquez, age 80, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on September 18, 1942, in Moctezuma, San Luis Potosi to Tiburcio Alfaro and Francisca Vasquez. Jose grew up in Nuevo Laredo, Tamp. before moving to San Antonio, where he made many friends that he considered family. Jose was a Dallas Cowboy fan and he loved to celebrate all holidays, especially Halloween, he would always create his own costumes. Every New Year’s Day we knew he was coming to visit to fellowship with family and eat some of his sister’s menudo and flour tortillas. He was preceded in death by, his parents; sister; Maria Acevedo brother-in-law; Luis Acevedo, sister; Estefana Alfaro, brother; Cruz Alfaro, sister-in-law; Ramona Alfaro and nephew; Jorge Moreno. Jose is survived by sister; Prisca A. Ortega, brother; Apolonio Alfaro and many nieces and nephews that will always remember him as a good and fun uncle. Special thanks to friend Gloria who always made sure he was not alone during the last years of his life. Tio Pepe will be greatly missed but we know he is now reunited with his loved one and will not be forgotten may he rest in peace.
