Jose "Joey" Velasquez Jr.

Jose Velasquez Jr., affectionately known as Joey, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2025, at the age of forty. Joey was born on December 18, 1984, in San Antonio, and he was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend.

Joey was known for his kind heart, infectious smile, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He served his country with honor in the military, and his bravery and commitment will always be remembered. Joey had a passion for helping others, and he touched the lives of many with his generosity and warmth.

He is survived by his mother, Maria T. Barrera; his father, Joe Velasquez; his wife, Amy I. Velasquez; and his daughters, Aliya and Hanna, who will forever cherish his memory. He also leaves behind his brothers, Albert Austin and Martin, and many nieces and nephews. Joey’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Joey will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain with us always.

Joey will be laid to rest on Wednesday February 26th at 10:15 am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Family and Friends will gather at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home 1701 Austin Hwy San Antonio, Tx 78218 at 9:30 am behind the funeral home to depart for the cemetery in procession.
