Joseph “Joe” Benedetti, born in Scranton, PA, passed away on February 20, 2012, at the age of 92. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margot. Joe is survived by his brother, Peter Benedetti, of San Francisco, CA, children: Barbara Bornemann and husband, Douglas; Thomas Benedetti and wife, Nancy; Petra Zerbst and husband Douglas; grandchildren: Keith and Brett Bornemann, and Augie and Charlotte Zerbst; and four great-grandchildren.
Joe retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant with 20 years’ service, and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years. He loved traveling and was an avid sports fan and history buff who was always ready to “debate” on any subject. Joe will be remembered by his family and friends for his knowledge, humor and love for his family.
Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 1, followed by a Chapel service at 12:30 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Final burial will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
