

Joseph Patrick Koch, 59, passed away unexpectedly in his home Tuesday, November 15, 2022 in Henrietta, Texas. He was born on August 30, 1963 in Austin, Texas to Joseph Leo and Donella Ann Koch. Joe was blessed with two wonderful parents and four siblings who truly loved him. Joe’s dad served in the US Army and the family spent time stationed in Heidelberg Germany, San Antonio TX, Manhattan KS, and Bad Kreuznach Germany. Joe especially enjoyed exploring castles and forests with his brothers in Germany when he was a boy.
The family moved to San Antonio when Joe was starting 9th grade. Joe graduated from Churchill High School and served in the US Army Reserves. He attended Texas State Technical Institute and upon graduation worked as a plumber. After several years in plumbing he changed careers and spent most of his remaining career in sales including many years as a top salesman at Saturn of San Antonio.
Joe enjoyed spending his time at his lake house, playing video games, helping others in need, and spending time with his friends and family. He was a loving, devoted, and proud father and grandfather. He will be remembered for his positive attitude and fun personality. Joe was always ready with a good joke. Living life in the present was important to him and he lived life to the fullest by doing what made him happy.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Donella “Dee” Koch. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Mata and her husband Samuel; his sons, Joseph Koch, and Noah Koch; and his granddaughter, Leighton Mata. Along with his immediate family he is also survived by his siblings, Deb Willis (Kent), Kevin Koch (Lisa), Tom Koch (Diane), and Dawn Koch as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Porter Loring North.
