Josh is survived by his mother, Darlene Wollney Crittenden, grandmother, Laura Wollney, goddaughter, Myra Gibson, girlfriend, Lilly Garcia, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joshua attended schools in La Vernia and played High school football as a La Vernia Bear. His love for music was inspired by his friend, Neal; and he refined his skills under Master Guitarist, Terry Muska. Josh quickly found his passion for teaching and inspiring classical guitar at Studio 88 and Music & Arts. Additionally, he was a philosopher, debater, and artist.
His artwork was honed at San Antonio College where he earned an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts; Josh enjoyed art shows in the King William district, and he created many inspirational pieces ranging from paintings to murals and sculptures. He also had a love for classic cars and car shows which he shared with his mom. As a free spirit, he travelled as far as Nova Scotia, and found peace and serenity in the wilds of Oregon as he played and recorded music with close friends under the guise of Rogue Medicine. He also loved spending time with his Pitbull, Socrates and his rescue dog, String Bean.
As a humanitarian he has guided and inspired many young musicians, and his professions have included bouncing and bar tending at local clubs where he brought joy and safety to those he met. He will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered by tons of family, many circles of friends, enlightened students, fellow artists and musical colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, donations and memorial contributions may be sent to Mary Ann Amaro, Joshua's godmother, at 5511 Lost Lane, San Antonio TX 78238 to help pay for funeral expenses and to donate to local music students who cannot afford instruments. Please be sure to leave your thoughts and prayers in the Guest Book.
