

Jovita was born in Selma, TX, to Narciso and Fernanda Lopez who eventually moved to San Antonio where she was raised on their family farm.
In March of 1955, she married the love of her life John and built a life together for 59 years. The couple bought a home where they raised their four children. Jovita was an exceptional wife and mother, who was always loving, caring and generous to all those around her. She had a passion for music, dancing, cooking, collecting elephants and taking care of her plants. In the mid 1980’s the family moved to their forever home where they remained for over 30 years. A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devout in her Catholic Faith. She enjoyed family game nights, and loved hosting parties during the holidays especially at Christmas.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John P. Villarreal Sr., her parents, and (5)siblings. She is survived by her 4 children; Bea (Louis), Sylvia, John Jr. (Cindy) and Lu (Joe). 7 grandchildren; Michelle, Stephanie, Joey (Mari), Vanessa, Veronica (Danny), Jennifer (Cory), John III (Faith). 11 great grandchildren; Damien, Isaiah, Danica, Carla, Alexander Paul, Olivia, Emma, Leila Jay, Zoey, Oliver, and Noah. Her sisters Olivia (Alex) & Herminia (Frank), her brother Narciso (Hope) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jovita’s family would like to thank Dr. Robert Freeman and staff at Wellmed and all the patient care personnel at Embrace Hospice.
