Former San Antonio resident, Joyce P. Stanford went to her heavenly home March 23, 2013. She was born to Johnny B. and Hassie Mae (Busby) Priddy in rural Oklahoma. She grew up in the Dallas area, so she always considered herself a true Texan. Howard Lee Stanford, her husband for 54 years, preceded her in death, as did her six older siblings. Joyce spent 26 years as an Army wife, with duty stations in Greece and France in addition to the U.S. They retired in San Antonio where she lived until October 2008 when she moved to live with her one child, daughter Ann and son-in-law Darryl Starling of Chandler, AZ. She is also survived by two grandchildren: grandson James L. Wilson, Jr and his sons Jarek and Tyr Wilson, and granddaughter Jo McDougall and her children Brittni and Joshua Scribner. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Randolph Church of Christ, 1032 Pat Booker Rd. Universal City, TX 78148. Private interment will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
