

Juan was a devoted, sociable and spirited man whose presence was felt whenever family or friends gathered.
Juan was born June 24, 1935 on 1918 STA URSULA Laredo, Texas, he was the son of Luis L. Lopez Sr. and Josefa De la Paz.
Juan met his beloved wife Dora F. Lopez in San Antonio, Texas while on military leave and then they married on April 1, 1956. Together they built a happy life rooted in love, commitment and sacrifice. Sharing 69 wonderful years of marriage and always providing for his family.
Juan was a man who truly enjoyed people and community. He loved socializing, baseball, coaching, umpiring and working on his yard. He took an active interest in politics. He often would helped friends and neighbors. He especially cherished playing with and spending time with his children, grandchildren and generations that followed.
Juan was known for joking around and his love for playing lotto tickets. He brought warmth and laughter to everyday moments.
Juan was especially proud of his military service. He started his military career when he joined the Army National Guard April 6, 1952 to May 30, 1952. He then joined the United States Air Force October 2, 1953 to July 23, 1957. He then joined the Army National Guard and retired after 23 years of service.
Juan served his country with pride and honor. Always encouraging his children for love and service to their country and community.
Juan is survived by his sons Juan A. Lopez Jr. (Terri), David Lopez (Terry), George Lopez (Janie), Rudy Lopez, Gilbert Lopez and his daughters Cindy Vasquez, Rose Mary Monreal (Danny), Linda Ward and Debbie Sanchez as well as numerous nieces and nephews, 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Dora F. Lopez, great grandson Paul Bautista Jr. His siblings Luis Lopez Jr., Juanita Johnson and Amparo Lopez.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX. 78237 on March 12, 2026, from 5:00 pm. to 10:00 pm. A prayer service will be held there the same evening, March 12, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held at Victory Chapel, 1742 S. General McMullen Drive, San Antonio, TX. 78237 on March 13, 2026, at 10:00 am.
Committal service will take place at San Jose Burial Park, 8235 Mission Road, San Antonio, TX. 78214 on March 13, 2026.
Juan A. Lopez leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
