Juana Irizarry

Juana Irizarry, a resident of San Antonio, passed away on March 14, 2012 surrounded by loving family and friends at the age of 83. She was born on April 29, 1928 in Yauco, Puerto Rico and is survived by siblings Estrella, Catin, Angelo, Leo, and Bartolo. Sons are Juan Antonio Sr., Raymond Santiago, Danny Irizarry, Reynaldo Gerena, and Jose Gerena. Daughters are Mary O’Malley, Mildred Romero, and Candy Mercado. Sons-in-law are Mike O’Malley, Lee George, and Edgar Mercado. Daughters-in-law are Carmen Santiago, Jo Anne Searles, Sylvia Moya, Lucy Gerena, and Alicia Gerena. Grandchildren are Juan Antonio Jr., Christina, Albert, Robert, Adrian, Andriana, Ray, Joseph, Kent, Willie, Mari, Jason, Kelli, Elizabeth, Ricky, Keila, Nina, Crystal, Kimberly, Zachary, Eddie, Lucy, Reynaldo Jr., Omayra, Gladys, Nadilina and numerous great grandchildren. Juana was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Irzarry and Francisca Martinez Marques; siblings, Alfred and Jose; husband, Daniel Gerena; daughter, Mary Gerena; and former husband, Salvador Santiago. Juana always put God and family first in her life. Her hobbies included reading the bible, cooking, playing bingo, and trips to the casino. Viewing will be Friday, March 16, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. with the Funeral Service on the same day at 7 p.m.
