Juana Pantoja

Juana Pantoja was born on June 24, 1949. She was born to Maria Jesus Picado and Pedro Jarquin in Jinotega, Nicaragua. She married Luis Pantoja in March 1969 and they had 8 children.

In 1985, at the age of 36 she immigrated to the United States and alongside her husband built the American dream. Juana lived in San Antonio, TX most of her adult life. She journeyed thru many entrepreneurial adventurers, of which many were successful. Pantoja Service, was co-owned and operated for over 20 year and was her “baby”.

Juana’s work ethic and strong will was a reflection of her love for her children. Her devotion to God and the church family was unlike any other. She felt a high calling to helping people from her country in Nicaragua, and she helped in many different ways including monetary donations and providing clothes to different community; but to her the most important duty was to pray for those in need.

Juana loved to learn new songs and play guitar, she enjoyed leading people in worship, she was a great story-teller and loved to tell jokes.

Juana is preceded by her husband Luis Pantoja, her son Luis Fernando Pantoja and her parents Pedro Jarquin and Maria Jesus Picado.

Juana is survived by Children: Veronica & William, Goldin & Edwin, Meyling & Diego, Randy, Jeymy & Edwin P., Gamaliel, Tatiana & Ruben.

Grandchildren: Diego Josue, Betania, William Jr, Zulema, Edwin Jr, Arianna, Azarayah, Zion, Randy Jr, Selah and Jaelyn.

Siblings: Orlando, Baltazar, Dora, Vilma, Vicente, Gloria Rosa, Jose Manuel

Juana Pantoja nació el 24 de junio de 1949. Es hija de María Jesús Picado y Pedro Jarquín en Jinotega, Nicaragua. Se casó con Luis Pantoja en marzo de 1969 y tuvieron 8 hijos.

En 1985, a la edad de 36 años, emigró a los Estados Unidos y junto a su esposo construyó el sueño americano. Juana vivió en San Antonio, TX la mayor parte de su vida adulta. Emprendio muchos proyectos, de los cuales muchos tuvieron éxito. Pantoja Service, fue copropiedad y operada durante más de 20 años y fue su "negocio consentido".

La ética de trabajo y la fuerte voluntad de Juana eran un reflejo de su amor por sus hijos. Su devoción a Dios y a la familia de la iglesia era como ninguna. Sintió un gran llamado a ayudar a las personas de su país en Nicaragua, y ayudó de muchas maneras diferentes, incluidas donaciones monetarias y proporcionar ropa a diferentes comunidades; Pero para ella el deber más importante era orar por los necesitados.

A Juana le encantaba aprender nuevas canciones y tocar la guitarra, disfrutaba guiando a la gente en la adoración, era una gran narradora de historias y le encantaba contar chistes.

Juana es precedida por su esposo Luis Pantoja, su hijo Luis Fernando Pantoja y sus padres Pedro Jarquín y María Jesús Picado.

A Juana le sobreviven sus hijos: Veronica & William, Goldin & Edwin, Meyling & Diego, Randy, Jeymy & Edwin, Gamaliel, Tatiana & Ruben.

Nietos: Diego Josue, Betania, William Jr, Zulema, Edwin Jr, Arianna, Azarayah, Zion, Randy Jr, Selah y Jaelyn.

Hermanos: Orlando, Baltazar, Dora, Vilma, Vicente, Gloria Rosa, Jose Manuel

A visitation for Juana will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Iglesia Cristiana Roca de Salvacion, 7326 Harlow Dr., San Antonio, TX 78218. A funeral service will occur Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. A committal service will occur Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218.
