Juana M. Rodriguez

Juana “Juanita” Montalvo Rodríguez, amada esposa, madre, abuela y bisabuela, nació el 27 de diciembre de 1927 en Ciénega de Flores, México, hija de Víctor Montalvo Araujo y María Treviño Montalvo. Partió al descanso eterno el 8 de septiembre de 2026, dejando un hermoso legado de amor, fe, familia y servicio.

En 1946, Juanita conoció y se casó con el amor de su vida, Pedro Obregón Rodríguez, en Monterrey, México. Juntos comenzaron su vida y más tarde se trasladaron a los Estados Unidos, donde obtuvieron con orgullo la ciudadanía estadounidense en 1967.

Juanita fue una madre y abuela dedicada que encontraba gran alegría en cuidar y proveer para su familia. Le encantaba cocinar para sus seres queridos y era especialmente conocida por sus deliciosos postres. Durante muchos años, trabajó en las cafeterías escolares del distrito Edgewood ISD, donde se ganó el aprecio de todos por su amabilidad, su gran ética de trabajo y su corazón bondadoso.

En 1979, Juanita y Pedro abrieron "El Charro Café", un restaurante mexicano que administraron con éxito durante muchos años. Su restaurante se convirtió en otro reflejo del amor de Juanita por la cocina, la hospitalidad y el reunir a las personas.

Juanita fue un alma amable, considerada, generosa y amorosa, apreciada por todos aquellos que tuvieron la fortuna de conocerla. Brindó su amor a la familia incondicionalmente y fue una mujer de fe profunda e inquebrantable. Afrontó la dolorosa pérdida de su primer hijo debido a una enfermedad y pasó sus últimos años cuidando con devoción a Pedro después de que él quedara discapacitado a causa de la diabetes. A pesar de los numerosos desafíos y dificultades físicas que experimentó a lo largo de su larga vida, Juanita rara vez se quejaba y se caracterizaba por mantenerse alegre y agradecida.

En cada etapa de su vida, Juanita enfrentó las dificultades con fe y confianza absolutas en Dios. Su fortaleza, perseverancia, generosidad y devoción a su familia seguirán siendo una inspiración para todos los que la conocieron y la amaron. Su familia encuentra consuelo al saber que ella se ha ganado su lugar en el Cielo y que ahora descansa en paz en los brazos amorosos de nuestro Señor.

A Juanita le sobreviven sus hijos, Héctor Jesús Rodríguez y su esposa, Rosemary; ...y Luis Antonio Rodríguez y su esposa, Elida. Le sobreviven también sus nietos: Héctor Jesús Rodríguez II y su esposa, Laura; Timothy Nathaniel Rodríguez; Laura Elizabeth Rodríguez; y Luis Antonio Rodríguez II y su esposa, Marissa; sus bisnietos: Andrew Rodríguez, Ava Rodríguez y Luz Aurelia Rodríguez; así como numerosos familiares y seres queridos que guardarán su recuerdo para siempre.

Le precedieron en la muerte su amado esposo, Pedro Obregón Rodríguez, y su hija, Laura Alicia Rodríguez.

Aunque se extrañará profundamente su presencia, el amor, la fe y la bondad de Juanita, así como los recuerdos que creó con su familia, perdurarán por generaciones. Que descanse eternamente en la paz y el amor de nuestro Señor.

El velorio se llevará a cabo en la Funeraria Del Angel Trevino (226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237) el lunes 14 de septiembre de 2026, de 4:00 p. m. a 10:00 p. m., con el rezo del Rosario a las 7:00 p. m.

La funeraria abrirá a las 8:30 a. m. el martes 15 de septiembre de 2026 para el cortejo fúnebre, que partirá a las 9:00 a. m. hacia la Misa de Resurrección en la Iglesia Católica Holy Rosary (159 Camino Santa Maria, San Antonio, Texas 78228), programada para las 9:30 a. m.; posteriormente, nos dirigiremos al cementerio San Fernando #2 (746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78237) para el sepelio.

Juana “Juanita” Rodriguez Montalvo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born December 27, 1927, in Cienega de Flores, Mexico, to Victor Montalvo Araujo and Maria Trevino Montalvo. She entered into eternal rest on September 8, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, family, and service.

In 1946, Juanita met and married the love of her life, Pedro Obregon Rodriguez, in Monterrey, Mexico. Together, they began their life and eventually moved to the United States, where they proudly became United States citizens in 1967.

Juanita was a devoted mother and grandmother who found great joy in caring for and providing for her family. She loved cooking for those she loved and was especially known for her delicious desserts. For many years, she worked in the school cafeterias of Edgewood ISD, where she became known for her friendliness, strong work ethic, and warm heart.

In 1979, Juanita and Pedro opened El Charro Café, a Mexican restaurant that they successfully operated together for many years. Their restaurant became another reflection of Juanita’s love for cooking, hospitality, and bringing people together.

Juanita was a kind, thoughtful, generous, and loving soul who was cherished by everyone fortunate enough to know her. She gave her love to her family unconditionally and was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She endured the heartbreaking loss of her first child due to illness and spent her later years caring devotedly for Pedro after he became disabled due to diabetes. Despite the many challenges and physical hardships she experienced throughout her long life, Juanita rarely complained and was known for remaining cheerful and grateful.

Throughout every season of her life, Juanita faced life’s difficulties with complete faith and trust in God. Her strength, perseverance, generosity, and devotion to her family will remain an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has earned her place in Heaven and is now peacefully resting in the loving arms of our Lord.

Juanita is survived by her children, Hector Jesus Rodriguez and his wife, Rosemary; and Luis Antonio Rodriguez and his wife, Elida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Hector Jesus Rodriguez II and his wife, Laura, Timothy Nathaniel Rodriguez, Laura Elizabeth Rodriguez, and Luis Antonio Rodriguez II and his wife, Marissa; great-grandchildren, Andrew Rodriguez, Ava Rodriguez, and Luz Aurelia Rodriguez; as well as numerous extended family members and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pedro Obregon Rodriguez, and her daughter, Laura Alicia Rodriguez.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, Juanita’s love, faith, kindness, and the memories she created with her family will live on for generations to come. May she rest eternally in the peace and love of our Lord.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on Monday September 14, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm.

The funeral home will open at 8:30 am on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 for a processional that will depart at 9:00am for a Mass of the Resurrection at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 159 Camino Santa Maria, San Antonio Texas 78228 at 9:30 am, we will proceed after to San Fernando Cemetery #2, 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio Texas 78237 for Burial.
