Juaquina De La Cruz, 80, of San Antonio peacefully left this world to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on October 22, 2025.
Juaquina was a loving soul — someone who celebrated others’ successes, offered comfort in difficult times, and made everyone feel safe and accepted just as they were. She always put others before herself and was truly the rock and glue of her family.
She stood by her loved ones through good times and bad, never expecting perfection and loving each person wholeheartedly, flaws and all. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering strength touched every life she encountered.
Juaquina is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Rogelio De La Cruz, and their children: Roger De La Cruz and his wife, Amanda, his sons Austen and Aysen. Jeffrey De La Cruz and his wife Anna, and their family Becca, Jacqueline, and Joshua. Last Dennis and wife Eleanor De La Cruz, and their family Zachary, Paige, Bailey, Kadence, Reagan, Bianca, and Max;
She was also blessed with one great grandchild, Alayna, daughter of Zachary and Danae De La Cruz, who brought her endless joy.
Juaquina will be joining with her beloved parents Maria and Claudio Duque, along with her beloved brother Claude and her beloved sister Cynthia Duque, surviving siblings brothers Rudy Duque, Roger Duque, David Duque and Sisters Margaret Garcia, and Connie Espinoza.
Juaquina will be remembered not just for who she was, but for how she made others feel seen, heard, and deeply loved.
A celebration of life will be held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on November 5th from 5pm to 9pm, memorial service held at 7 p.m. Loved ones are encouraged to speak and share memories in her honor.
