

Julian Moreno Gonzales, affectionately known as Julio, 63, departed this Earth on March 14, 2021. Before making his home in Matthews, North Carolina, Julian grew up in Karnes City, Texas. He was a 1977 graduate of Brownfield High School, a 1980 graduate of Malone & Hogan School of X-ray, and a 1998 graduate of Midwestern State University, where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Radiological Science. Julian enjoyed a 40-year career as a Radiologic Technologist in multi-modalities, including X-ray, CT, and MR. He was also certified and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. During his time in San Antonio, Texas, Julian served as an Adjunct Faculty member for the Radiologic Technology Program at St. Philips College (1997-2008). Outside of Julian's passion for radiology, he was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, an avid movie watcher, lover of music, runner, voracious learner, and loving father and grandfather. Those who knew Julian best will remember him as a devoted family man, hard worker, and an outstanding radiologic technologist. Julian's humor and laugh will be missed by all who knew him.
Julian is preceded in death by his parents Fortino R. Gonzales and Micaila Moreno; paternal grandparents Julian & Micaela Gonzales and maternal grandparents Jose & Paula Lopez Moreno. Julian leaves behind to honor his memory his daughter and her husband Juliana Renee & Daniel Belmont Gandarilla, his grandchildren Zayla Luz Gandarilla, and Mila Paz Gandarilla; his former wife and friend Segundina Bucasas Gonzales to whom he was married to from 1981-2014; loving brothers and sisters Robert Gonzales, Mary Hernandez (Steve), Sylvia Gonzales, Fortino Gonzales, Jr. (Betsy), Yolanda Mendoza, Gloria Canales (David); nieces & nephews Robert, Felicia, Michael, Tasha, Lorenzo, Martin, Teresa, Frank, Justin, Amanda, Claudio, and Daniel; aunts and uncles Lupe Arriola (Richard), Juanita Mosqueda, Victoria Brosig, Janie Miller Leal, and Sofia Leal Mendoza; cousins Sebia Chavez, Rose Calderon, Jessica Arriola, Amy Reck, George Leal Martinez, Yolanda Mendoza Swindall, Blanca Alvarez, and many other loved ones.
