Justin Graham Gill, born 12/19/1984 passed away at his parents' home Sunday morning July 25. Graham was born in San Antonio, graduated from San Antonio Academy, Clark High School and Wingate University in North Carolina in 2007.
Graham was the king of charisma and a true leader. While in high school he started the first club lacrosse team in San Antonio at St. Anthony's High school. He was always about helping others and anyone attending a school without a team could join. Upon graduation the "Graham Gill Leadership" award was awarded to team members that followed Graham's leadership example.
Since then, other public schools in San Antonio now have lacrosse programs. As a result of his successful Lacrosse high school efforts, he was the first public high school student to be awarded an NCAA, Division II, scholarship and played for Wingate University, Wingate, North Carolina.
Graham enjoyed growing teams and helping others. As the Kappa Alpha fraternity president at Wingate University he grew the membership and philanthropy project to the largest in the Greek organization history and the chapter won the Greek organization of the year.
Graham loved to hunt, fish, and water ski. His focus was always on helping others whether it was as a team member in a sport, or mentoring. Graham is survived by his parents Ernie and Pat Gill, his sister Morgan all who live in San Antonio. Graham was truly adored and impacted so many lives.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring.
