Karen Lee Rich

Karen Lee Rich, age 63, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at her home in San Antonio, Texas. She was born to parents, Judy and Jim Spitzer, on July 6, 1960, in Madison, Wisconsin. In 1998 she married Jon Rich, living in several places before settling in San Antonio, Texas in 1995. She worked at Coilplus for the past 22 years as an Administration Mgr./Accountant.

Karen was an avid gardener, and she loved her plants and flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially with her daughters and grandbabies. She also enjoyed entertaining by cooking and baking. She loved to travel, especially to tropical destinations.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Spitzer, and her first husband, Hans Zwarst. Karen is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jon Rich; siblings, Eric Spitzer (Yvonne), Laura Spitzer (Steve), and John Spitzer (Tasha); children, Jessica Shook, Jamie Hernadez (David), and Ashley Orovio (Ernesto); and five grandchildren, Devin, Bryce, Kimberly, Nathan, and Lucas.

Karen was a beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend, and she will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Friday, October 20, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary West.

Chaplain Bobby Moody will officiate. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
