Born in Oswego, New York, Katherine graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital Nursing School in Syracuse in 1933 and pursued her vocation for several years.
She married Dr. Hugh Hoeffler and joined with him in his military career.
A ray of light to all who knew her, Kate will be remembered for her loving heart, great faith, vivid storytelling and joyful spirit.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh; her nieces, Kathleen Hamilton of Dallas, Margaret Pierce of Atlanta, Georgia, Elizbeth Doonan and Christine Doonan, both of Providence, Rhode Island and Jen Ochsner of Syracuse, New York; and her nephews, Pat Doonan of Atlanta, Georgia, James Ochsner of Fort Myers, Florida and Peter Ochsner of Goshen, New York.
