Katherine Anne Rupp

Katherine Anne Rupp was called home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 11, 2020. Katherine had the purest of hearts and she loved the Lord fiercely. Her love for her family was immense and her close friends were incredibly special to her. Katie’s love for helping others, especially the children she cared for, was beyond measure. She was the blessing her parents waited many years for. Although Emilie “wanted to be an only child”, she soon realized that her little sister would become her life-long best friend. Katherine was blessed with amazing educators, coaches and mentors that helped mold her and support her. Katie was involved with the San Antonio Lutheran Coronation as a court page, royal page, and then duchess. She treasured the memories of those days. Katie absolutely loved the game of volleyball but found her true calling in caring for children at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Child Care. She loved and cared for those babies as if they were her own. As Emilie and her husband Daniel welcomed their two children, Madeline and Chase, Katie became her most treasured of names - Aunt KK. Aunt KK would do anything for those two babies. Katie always thought of others and what she could do for them, and she will continue to do so by being an organ donor. Katie was welcomed into heaven by her grandparents, Clarence and Fayrene Menzel and Don and Jane Rupp, as well as her Uncle Kenneth Menzel. She is survived by her parents Gary and Donna Rupp, her sister and brother-in-law Emilie and Daniel Jaquez and her niece and nephew Madeline and Chase Jaquez, her uncles and aunts, Allen and Sylvia Menzel, Marjorie Menzel, Clifford Menzel and Mara McDowell. Katie is also survived by her cousins, Kevin, Jenna, Kaleb, Jared, Nathan and Madeline Menzel; Kimberly, Tim, Ashleigh and Jakob Elmshaeuser; Cheryl, Jeff, Tanner and Finley Peterson; Kirby Menzel; Jennifer, Kevin and Harrison Skonnord; and many other cousins and close friends.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Menzel, Jeff Peterson, Joe Bridges, Robert Yuan, Erik Greenway and Steve Warnock.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Child Care in Katie’s honor.
