Her only child, Amy, and sister, Linda, were at her bedside. She was born December 17, 1953, in Spokane, Washington, to Robert and Evelyn Stevens.
She is survived by her mother, sister, and brothers, Tom and Gary.
Before the birth of her child, she was a teller for many years at the National Bank of Commerce. She returned to work in 1996 with the North East Independent School District and was a special education assistant at El Dorado Elementary.
Since 1983 she has been an active member of First Presbyterian Church.
Kathy was diagnosed with cancer in spring 2007 and was an inspiration to many around her.
Her family would like to thank the START clinic and the many supportive friends who have been so faithful.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 404 N Alamo, San Antonio, Texas 78205. Checks should be designated to Justo Mwale Seminary in Africa. The money will be used either for scholarships or for digging wells.
