

Katrina Marie Wood was born on June 27, 1997 at Fort Irwin, California to Keith and Brenda Wood. The daughter of an Army family, she lived in California, Germany, and El Paso before settling down and calling San Antonio Texas Home.
Katrina graduated with Honors from Claudia Taylor "Lady Bird" Johnson High School in June 2015, and entered Texas Tech University in August 2015 to study Mass Communication and Journalism.
Katrina was an active member of the Girl Scouts and was a section editor for the Claudia Taylor "Lady Bird" Johnson High School yearbook.
Katrina was an active member of her Church and Youth Group. She regularly attended youth retreats, helped with Vacation Bible School and children's ministry, went to Laredo, Texas for mission trips, attended two Sea City Work Camp and two mission trips to Haiti with Hope Arise United Methodist Church.
Katrina is survived by her parents, Keith and Brenda Wood of San Antonio, Texas; her sister, Heather Lynn Bean of San Antonio; her nephew and niece, Xaver and Aubri; her maternal grandparents, Jerry and Diane Bean of Shertz, Texas, and everyone she touched in her time here with us.
A Celebration of Katrina's time here with us will be conducted at Porter Loring Mortuary, 2102 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232, on October 26, 2015. The Chapel will open at 11:00 AM, with a Celebration of Katrina's life from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM.
Burial will be at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 PM, with a Reception following at Cimarron Praise United Methodist Church, 10155 Old Cimarron Trail, Converse, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Hope Arise United Methodist Church Haiti Mission Trip Fund in Katrina's Memory (http://tinyurl.com/ohadzsr).
