He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Verna Nell Crossley Minix; his parents, his twin brother, Warren Minix; his younger brother, J.T. Minix and his son, Douglas Minix.
He is survived by his sister, Lillian Gerkin; sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Western Hills Christian Church, 8535 Huebner Road, San Antonio, TX 78240 on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
Interment of his ashes by the family will take place at a later date in the Blanco Texas Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the San Antonio Public Library Gift and Memorial Fund, Attn: Fiscal Offices at Central Library, 600 Soledad Street, San Antonio, TX 78205 or to a charity of one's choice.
