Kenneth Wayne Rayborn, 77, passed away on February 6, 2023. He was born in San Antonio on February 19, 1945. He attended Little Flower Catholic School. Upon graduation he married Susan Elaine Yeager and they soon had two boys. Ken worked at USAA in the mail room. He was a quick learner and eager to do more, and it wasn’t long before they moved him into the computer room where he mastered the use of their new punch card-based software systems. Ken and Susan’s marriage ended in the early 70’s and Ken moved to Dallas and joined the burgeoning technology company International Business Machines. He would work at IBM for the next 36 years. It was said he was the highest-ranked executive in Dallas that didn’t have a college degree, and he would have kept advancing within IBM except for the fact he refused to move to New York. In those early days at IBM he met Bonnie Williams and they would be happily married for the next four decades. Ken and Bonnie enjoyed retirement in Dallas where Ken was a master gardener and avid Cowboys fan and Bonnie had a business buying and selling rare dolls. Bonnie passed away in December 2020. The family is comforted knowing they are together again. Ken will be missed by many and is survived by his sons John (Greg Casillas), and Clay (Tania) Rayborn, and his three grandchildren, Ella, Beau and Eva.
A graveside service for Kenneth will be held at 10:00am on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218.
