

Kenny grew up in Agat, Guam. He graduated from George Washington High School in Mangilao, Guam. After high school he served in the United States Army and retired after 20 years of honorable service. While in the Army he served in Operation Desert Storm/Shield and was awarded many decorations, medals, badges and campaign ribbons. After his service in the Army he continued to serve as an Army Civilian as an IT Specialist.
He enjoyed spending time with and caring for his family. It was the little things he did to show his family how much he loved them and how big his heart was. His strong faith in God further enabled him to be a kind-hearted, caring, selfless and compassionate man to everyone he encountered. Kenny had a great sense of humor and could always bring a smile and a laugh to someone who needed it. He enjoyed cooking, sewing, fixing up computers, walking the trails, working around the house, gardening and loved the L.A. Lakers.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Diana Elizabeth Cook Garrido of Agat, Guam; his daughters Mellissa Dean, Tanisha Garrido and Amanda Engelberth; Son-in-law, David Dean; grandson, Ethan Dean (Papa's pride and joy); siblings: Joe, Arleen, Steven, Johanna, Jimmy, Carol, Earl and Rhea. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Maria Garrido and brother Roland.
A Rosary will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. A Funeral Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. The family will be receiving friends and family at 11:00 a.m. on May 20, 2015. Burial will follow the funeral at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
