Ladelle Rice Meier, age 94, passed into the Lord's eternal rest on June 10, 2003. She was born on Jan. 21, 1909 in Lampasas County to Robert H. and Novella Miller Rice. Her father and brother were lawyers in San Antonio. At the age of 19, she graduated from Baylor University in Waco with a degree in Journalism. Since 1920, she was a very active member of First Baptist Church. She was a long time member of the San Antonio Conservation Society. She worked with her husband in the family business, Meier Bros. Monuments. Her loves were the Lord, her church, her family and happy times at the family home in the Texas Hill Country. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Robert G. Rice of Houston, and her beloved husband, Russell H. Meier. She is fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her children: Jerilyn Keith, Joanne Handelman, Jackie Youngblood, Judy Hartung, Robert V. Rice and their families; and Russell G. Meier, Clifton E. Meier, Jr., Mary Ann Larsen and their families.
