Leona, we Fisher cousins have such wonderful memories of Larry as we all were growing up and then in these last few years as we gathered for our GFGK reunions in Missouri. He was always so fun to be with and he had such "unique" nicknames for so many of us. Such good times we had! I was, and am, so proud to be his cousin.I know he touched so many lives all around the world and will be missed dearly. I know you will find great comfort and peace with all of the wonderful memories of the great love and life you and he had together. Our love and prayers go with you.

It was great being stationed with Larry and you at the Pentagon, and then being reunited as neighbors at Kings Point, Lake of the Ozark. Since I was a little kid on the farm in Sullivan County Missouri, it was always exciting when cousin Larry was coming to visit......he could make our old upright piano dance with a rousing rendition of "Begin the Beguine"! Then he'd spend some time with Uncle Sam out at the barn doing chores. When all the Fisher cousins gathered in Chillicothe a few years ago, we were so thrilled that Larry made time to come back and see us at the GFGK (Granny Fisher GrandKids) reunion. Bill and I really enjoyed  having dinner with you and Larry just a couple or three years ago in San Antonio. Such a special soul he was....the world just lost one of the good guys. Our love and prayers to you and your family.

I had the pleasure of driving the General on his visits to Plymouth, Indiana. He never forgot his community and would attend function upon request. It was always my pleasure to spend time with him.   Jon Garrett, Msgt. USAF (Ret.)

I have missed Tibbs since our poker games at Coalyard Charley's. We met only once after that, under the wing of a B-36 when he hosted me for dinner in the Wright-Pat Air Force museum. Between Tibbs and Billy Baugh it won't ever get any better. Guys, here are your nickels on the grass!!!

I first meet Larry in the 49 FIS at Griffiss AFB during 1960-1963.  He was an outstanding officer, great patriot and had a great since of humor.  He will be missed.

Larry was always the life of the party, a master MC, and a true professional.  His personality and demeanor left a lasting and loving impression on all he met.  We were 'company grade' in the '60s and I remember him like yesterday.  May his soul be forever surrounded by the light.

Leona, I knew Larry first at Griffiss in the 49th FIS.  He was a good friend and a true gentleman.

Larry was my Weapons System Officer and roommate at Da Nang`in F-4s circa 1969-1970. We joined up in snake school at Clark and Gen. John Roberts the 366TFW Cmdr. met us at the C-130 when we arrived. We joined the 4th TFS and flew many missions together. A early notable mission was in Ma Gia Pass. They shot at us lot but "its better to be lucky than good" applied. In the '70s Larry ran the Colonels group while the Gen.s Group ran me. Gen Roberts the DP at the time figured he needed a couple of "Gunfighters" working for him. Larry was a warrior - who knew the fighter business and was great to fly with. He will be missed. Lt. Gen Robert E. Kelley.

Leona, Larry was a good friend and always enjoyed golfing with him. He was a true gentleman and an outstanding example of a Patriot. My thoughts are with you and the family. 

Bill Ghedi .. .

I worked for General Tibbetts nearly 30 years ago at HQ ATC. I went TDY with him many times and prepared him for joint service meetings. He pinned on my Major leaves. He was an extraordinary person and general officer.  He always had your back and unlike most generals was easy to talk to. He never put on airs and genuinely cared about people.  Years later I was sent to brief him at Lackland on a contested issue and when he saw me walk through his door it defused the situation. He was a loyal and independent-minded leader and those of us who served him knew it to be a rare honor.  I doubt we shall see his like again. May he rest in peace.

I always enjoyed visiting with Larry and Leona at the Patriot Heights dining room.  Larry was one of the most entertaining persons I had ever met and the kindest.  My prayers are with Leona, Larry's and Leona's children.

My dear Leona, Over the past 8 years we have had so many good times together.  I remember when I first met Larry, I was unsure of the protocol and didn't know what to call him so, I asked him how I was to address him?  General?  Mr.? and he said I can call him Sir so I said ok Larry and from that point on we became the best of friends.  I am going to miss our visits, our emails and most especially asking what's for dinner in the slop house, ha ha.  Hugs and kisses to you Leona.
