

She was born in Burlington, Iowa on July 19, 1921. She attended the University of Iowa and moved to San Antonio during World War II.
In San Antonio, she served as a member of the Junior Board of Directors for Eastern Airlines. She was also a member of Military Civilian Club, The Battle of Flowers, Alamo Heights-Terrell Hills Garden Club, San Antonio Country Club and the Forum.
She married Bill Fowlkes in 1949 and had three children. Laura Jane will be remembered for her open arms, her cornflower blue eyes, her love of a story well told and her ebullient sense of humor. Her joy in her grandchildren was legendary.
She will also be remembered for her courage in the face of physical adversity, her generous heart and the divine smell of her famous cinnamon rolls.
Laura Jane was predeceased by her husband, Bill; and her brothers, Griff Webbles and Dean Webbles. She is survived and will be sorely missed by her daughter, Lellen Lane and her husband, Rick Lane and their children, Emily, Bill and Minnie of San Antonio; her daughter, Becky Fowlkes of Comfort, TX; her daughter, Lucy Griffith and her husband, Andy Robinson of Austin, Texas and their children, Julia Robinson of Palo Alto, CA and Chris Robinson of Berlin, Germany; her "fourth daughter", Barbie O'Conner and her husband, Toby O'Conner of San Antonio; her brother John Webbles and his wife, Yvonne of San Antonio; her sisters-in-law, Janine and Ethel Webbles.
The family wants to express their gratitude to her loving caretakers especially Queta Lozano and Mauricia Avellar.
Honorary pallbearers: Toby O'Conner, Peter Hennessy, Stanley Jung, Bob Hausser, Alex Thomas, Roy Leslie, Greg Pasztor, and Mark Westerman.
