To the most loving, caring, and unselfish woman in the world - Laurie was a kind and gentle woman in my most trying of times and that is the portrait I have of her and I am so sorry that I never got a chance to tell her this. I just found out today and immediately made the search thru mysa.com and read the obituary. I feel that I was privileged to have known Laurie and that her legacy of being a great humanitarian will always be instilled with those of us who got the chance of knowing this wonderful woman.

To Laura's family: I cannot imagine the loss you are experiencing and did not realize that Laura was ill. I worked with her at the Missions when I lived in Texas from 1996-2000. She did so much for the park and our visitors and I cherish the time I had with her. She brightened the world with her commitment to excellence and love of those around her. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Working with Laura was one of the happiest times in my life. She was a joy to be around and a true lady. I will miss our long conversations and joking at the mission bookstore. She was so thoughtful to my grandchildren and gave them several books that they treasure. I will never have a friend that will mean as much to me as Laura did. My heart goes out to her family and know she loved you all very much. We discussed our families often and she had nothing but love to say about hers. I thank God that I had the pleasure of her friendship and will miss her always.

Laura was a sweet, caring person. As the manager of the park's bookstore, Laura had quite a bit of contact with me over the years. We not only talked about books, but when she was first diagnosed we talked about that as well. She always had a positive, upbeat attitude. It was so good to see her after she was in remission. It was devastating to hear that the cancer had returned worse than before. She was a colleague and friend. I will miss her. My heart goes out to her family at this time.

Dear Aunt Delia, Ronnie, Brian & Bill, I was very sorry to hear about Laura Jean's passing. No matter how much we prepare for something like this, it is still very difficult. I'm sorry we were unable to attend the services. Please know that Laura Jean will be in our prayers, as well as her husband and children. I have known Mrs. Lowe since high school, I began calling her Mama Lowe somewhere during that time, because she seemed like a second mother to me. She was supportive,encouraging and loving. In my college years I practically lived at her house and always remember how welcome I felt with her. Her smile, her kindess and the love in her voice as she asked me to come in and visit. I always admired how she balanced her independence with taking such wonderful care of her family. She was a special woman who meant a lot to all who knew her. I extend my condolences and prayers to her family.

To the Lowe Family Vickie and I were saddened to hear of Laura Jean's passing. My parents, Hector and Lila, were especially saddened to hear the news. Please accept our condolences for your loss. Although I have not kept in touch with Laura Jean since we were children, I can still see her in my memory as a smiling young girl playing on a swing set at one of the family picnics. Our family prays that she is as happy and at peace now as she was then.

I'm sorry that I can't be there. Mrs. Lowe was like a second mother to me while growing up. She was always very encouraging to her sons in whatever they wanted to pursue. She always treated me like one of them. Anytime we were camping in the backyard, or working on cars or boats, she always would make us lunch or get us whatever we needed.
