'Lavonne was kind and had a beautiful soul. She was my friend, classmate, and fellow EHS cheerleader and I am so happy that God destined our paths to cross. Lavonne just had a way to brighten your day with her gorgeous smile. We had so much fun when we were together...and I'm so happy we talked during our 2013 reunion. I can still picture Lavonne driving her brown Barracuda car to school, and then zooming up the small slope and parking her car by the gym doors for practice. I always admired Lavonne for her natural beauty and her cheerleading skills. My heart breaks that Lavonne passed away so young--it's a tremendous loss. I find comfort knowing that her smile now illuminates the heavenly skies. RIP my friend...it was a blessing to know you. 
To Paul & daughters: I am so sorry that I cannot attend Lavonne's memorial service tomorrow. I will be praying for your family to find peace, while tenderly reflecting on your precious memories of Lavonne.'

'I knew Lavonne over the years starting with Ms. Hamilton's 6th grades class at Will Rogers Elementary School , Whittier Jr High and then Edison High School She was a very talented all round person, Her passion was being a cheerleader in the Honey Bear Pep Squad, Every time I see anyone do a round about flips, I would think of Lavonne. Heard through other classmates that she was nurse at Santa Rosa , she was a passionate person , very sincere and friendly to every one, Everyone was blessed with her friendship, God Bless you Lavonne, You will be missed!!'

'Attended school with Lavonne, we graduated the same year. I admired Lavonne from afar in those years. When I married DJ and started attending Concordia Church, I was delighted to discover her there and that she was Dwights sister. Got to know and love her as a friend. So sorry that I did not spend as much time with her or share with her how much I admired her. Did get to hold her babies and watched as our children grew up and entered a confusing and challenging world. That connection never left me, I am so sorry for all of your feelings of loss. I am remembering the times I saw her coaching the little one on the fields of Concordia, the birthday parties, the quiet conversations about growing children, the pride she took in every one of you, your accomplishments and challenges you faced. The business of life and love. I will miss her presence here. But I also know she is in heaven, and that comforts me, as I know it comforts you.'

'What can I say about our precious Lavonne.....well she was high strong, athletic, funny, bossy, loving, caring and most of all just plain Lavonne. You always knew where you stood with her. I have know Lavonne and her family for over 55 years since she lived across the street from my Aunt Patty, Michael, Lisa and Doug Schwenn. Needless to say there was many flips across front yards. She was a joy to be around. I watched her grow into a wonderful sister, wife, mother, friend and so kind to everyone. You my dear will be forever missed. I know everyone has gained a special angel. She will always be with us and I will keep her memory close to my heart. To Paul, her girls, Dwight and Preston.....well you know how I felt about her. I send tight hugs, lots of love and prayers to help you with this difficult time. Remember her smile, her funny jokes, her cooking, go though your pictures together of her, and love each other. 'I have known Lavonne for almost 40 years. Our kids grew up together. I just can't believe she is gone.'

'LAB was my partner in crime, so to say, in many adventures. We met each other because Paul volunteered her to do Girl Scouts for the 1st grade class, so she and I became Co-leaders! And the 12+ year adventure began! Thru Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cadet's, Silver Awards, Senior, Gold Awards, Camping, Canoeing and more we did it all for the girls and made memories along the way. 
I will sorely miss her. I loved her as a sister, cherished her as a friend and remember always how she encouraged me and made me stronger than I knew I could be. 
Our families became very close, our kids inseparable. Thank you to the Blackmon family for sharing with my family. We have many memories yet to make. We look forward to each year as it may come.'

 She excelled in band and cheer. She will be miss. I know she will either be in the celestial band or giving cheers and hugs to the saints she will meet at the pearly gates. I truely do miss her already but can't wait to be with her again in our friendly competition again. Live to the family and many hugs.'
