Mike loved spending time with his family, both immediate and extended. He enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to play dominoes, checkers, and cards, and was not afraid to show them how to win and helped them build character by accepting defeat gracefully. Even into his later years and when his illness had taken root, he still managed to win, and win big. Mike loved nothing more than spending time outdoors, whether it was grilling for his family, fishing trips to the coast or spending time at the lake. Mike had a tremendous sense of humor and such a witty way about him. Mike never met a stranger and people loved his infectious smile and his overwhelming generosity. Mike loved being a father and grandfather, he worked tirelessly to provide for their education and well-being. Mike served proudly and honorably in the US Army from 1953-1955. He worked and retired from Kelly AFB as an aircraft mechanic and specialized in the brake and fuel systems of the B-52 and C-5A Galaxy aircrafts. Inspired by his brothers Chevo and Mundo he started a roofing business, which he successfully operated for well over 30 years. Our Dad will be remembered for his tenacious work ethic, incredible drive, and his unconditional love for his family.
