Linda was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to the parents of Floy and Orville Hill. When Linda was a teenager, she became a Christian and this is how she met her valuable, meaningful friends, in whom she always kept close with through the years. Their names are Polly, Jackie, Carol, Gertrude & John. Linda often expressed that they were an important part of her faith and her life. After graduating from high school, Linda was employed by the City of St. Louis, as the secretary to the city hospital social worker. Linda had a friend named Bill Beck during that time and in the fall of 1956, they began dating. On June 7, 1958, Linda and Bill were married in St. Louis at the “Victor Street Mission.” In 1961, they joyfully welcomed their first son, William Beck Jr., and in 1963, they were blessed to have another son named, Robert Beck. Linda was a stay- at- home mother, yet also progressively worked on earning her college degree with her spare time. Linda and Bill enjoyed bringing up their sons, being involved in their many activities which included baseball, boy scouts, and camping trips, just to name a few. In the early 1970’s, Linda obtained her Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts. She then became employed as a pharmacy technician for over 2 years at the “Cardinal Glennon” Children’s Hospital. In 1979, Linda began working for the Department of Defense in the personnel department for 12 years. In 1989, Linda and Bill became the proud grandparents of their first granddaughter whom resided in Las Cruces, NM. Although it was hard to leave longtime family and friends in St. Louis, Linda and Bill made the decision to move to Las Cruces, NM in 1991. Linda continued employment with the federal government at White Sands Missile Range, in the personnel department and in 1992, their second granddaughter was born and Linda cherished the time living close to her immediate family. In May of 2003, Linda retired from the federal government, after 24 proud years of service. Following this, Linda and Bill were able to travel more often. They took trips to many places, visiting different National Parks, taking cruises, and enjoying several European tours, in which the Italy one, she always shared was her favorite. Linda and Bill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Maui, accompanied by immediate family and that was a memorable trip for them also. In between traveling, Linda loved volunteering at “Memorial Medical Center.” She made new good friends there and always looked forward to their Saturday luncheons together. Linda also enjoyed reading books and playing table games, with the game “Mahjong” being her favorite. Linda also cherished family get-togethers, and always made the effort to make a person’s requested meal, for their birthday. Linda was blessed with 58 years of marriage to her wonderful Bill Sr., yet in 2017, he was called to be with the Lord. In 2018, Linda moved to San Antonio, TX. She really enjoyed the many San Antonio attractions. Linda made more good friends, continued enjoying board and card games, and also the “Sit & Fit” exercise class. Linda is survived by her cousin Brenda Minnick, whom she considered more to be like her sister. Also, by her son William and wife Kathy, her son Robert and wife Irene, her granddaughter Sandra and husband Austin, her granddaughter Ashley, her grandsons Corey, Greg, and Estevan, and also many precious nieces and nephews.
