

Linda Franzen, age 76 of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Stone Oak Methodist Hospital surrounded by family. Linda was born on February 18, 1948, in Warren, Arkansas and is the daughter of Charles and Nellie (King) Lane. As a military dependent, she was able to travel/live in places like Japan, Laredo, Texas, and Little Rock, Arkansas, where she met her future husband. Linda married Gary Franzen on December 17, 1967, in Little Rock. She followed Gary to Vandenberg AFB, California and then back to Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, and again to Vandenberg AFB, California. After Gary’s retirement from the Air Force, they relocated to San Antonio, Texas where she became employed by the Department of Defense, Non-Appropriated Funds section where she monitored the spending on construction projects. She retired in 2008 with 20 years of service. Linda spent her retirement traveling and going on cruises. She was an active member of a Lutheran Braille Workers team producing braille bibles.
Linda is survived by her husband, Gary Franzen; daughter, Melissa Morman; and son, James Franzen; three grandchildren, Jacob, Steven, and Daniel; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Zoey; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and a brother.
The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
