Linda Overton

Linda Faye Overton (nee Varnell), 74, of San Antonio, TX, passed into Heaven on December 2, 2023 after a long battle with dementia. She was born to Rosie and G.B. Varnell on Oct 24, 1949 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Linda was a 1967 graduate of Watson Chapel High School, and met and married her husband, Jim Overton, on June 21, 1968. Soon after getting married, Linda and Jim left Pine Bluff and moved around the country as an Air Force family. They recently celebrated 55 years of marriage and are the proud parents of Kelli Renee Terrell (Patrick), and have two beautiful grandchildren, Seth and Evelyn. In 2004, Linda and Jim moved from Arkansas to Texas to be full time grandparents, their favorite pastime. She also loved taking long, country road drives and fishing with Jim.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John “Buddy” Varnell. She leaves behind her loving family; husband James Overton, daughter Kelli Renee Terrell (Patrick), grandchildren Seth and Evelyn. Her siblings Eva Hankins (Donald), Betty Wreyford (James), Carol Varnell, Billy Varnell (Mary Kaye), Barbara Lenard, and Jo Ann Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home,910 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232 on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
