Linda was a lively, fun-loving, generous spirit whose warmth touched those she met. She had a radiant smile and friendly personality and found great joy in helping others. She enjoyed simple pleasures… family gatherings, spending time with friends, reading Scripture, listening to music, dancing, exercising, painting and spending time with her “fur-babies.” Lin had a flair in fashion and beauty as displayed in her clothing, dressing style, home decorating and art.
Linda was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from McArthur High School with honors in 1996 and enrolled at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Lin returned home after her first year at Texas Tech to help with her dad’s recovery and rehabilitation after a complicated back surgery. During this time, Lin worked as an occupational tech at HealthSouth RIOSA in San Antonio and attended San Antonio Community College.
In 2000, she worked as a television host of “The Edge,” where she interviewed local and national celebrities on camera and created interesting and exciting narratives for the viewers. In the evenings, Lin worked as a dance instructor and sales associate. She also worked with Condra Artista Talent Agency as a sales representative and event coordinator, spokesperson, actress, and fashion model. Lin made numerous communication commercials and voice overs and did modeling for local and national companies in print, film, and television. After obtaining her associate’s degree with honors from San Antonio College, Lin enrolled at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in American Studies and a minor in Psychology. Finding success in sales, Linda spent almost 2 decades as a sales counselor in the new homes industry. She met many kind people in this industry and acquired many close friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved, doting, Hungarian dad, Robert H. Rosa, Sr., whom she longed to see; her paternal grandfather Alex Rosa and grandmother Anna Rosa Gyongyosi and step-grandfather Louis Gyongyosi; her maternal grandparents Juan and Olivia Longoria. Those left to cherish her loving memory are her dear mother Rosita Rosa; brother Dr. Robert H. Rosa, Jr. (Maria); sister Anna Castello (Antonio); sister Ilona Rosa (Sam); and brother John Rosa; nephews Zachary Rosa (Natalia), Carlos Castello, and Matthew Rosa (Annaleise); nieces Anna Laura Simmons (John), Maria Isabel Szasz (Bence), Cara Beth Rosa; great-niece Ziva Rosa; 3 great-nephews Ittai Rosa, Joseph Pio Szasz, and Jedidiah Rosa. She is also survived by numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and kind friends and neighbors. Linda loved animals, especially her beloved dogs that brought her immense joy… Marius, Gijo, Skippy, Bear, and Nana. May God bless all who helped care for her dear pets during her illness.
Lin never stopped sharing the love of Christ with others, even from her hospital bed at M.D. Anderson. She would tell people, “I’m not afraid to die. I know where I’m going.” Lin prayed that others would come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
We thank God for the gift of our beautiful Linda and her loving affection for all her family and friends. Her parting leaves us with a profound void, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. We rejoice and praise God for the Hope of the Resurrection and the anticipated joy of being reunited with our sweet Lin one day.
Our family extends our deep, heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering love, prayers and support of so many during our loved one’s illness. May God bless each of you! – The Rosa Family
