Linda was born on February 18, 1947, in West Carthage, NY to the late Angus Fraser and Dorothea Luther. During her childhood, she lived in many places around the world where her father was stationed in the Army. Her family ultimately settled in Harrisville, where she graduated high school from Harrisville Central School in 1965. After graduation, she attended The College at Brockport, State University of New York.
On May 15, 1971, Linda married Larry Seibel in Honolulu, HI, while he was stationed there with the United States Air Force. In 1976, they made their home in Great Falls, MT where they had two sons, Jason and Christopher. Although they divorced in 1983, they remained close friends throughout the rest of her life.
Linda had a successful career in Great Falls, working for many years at Enterprise Electric and later at Anderson Steel, where she served as an estimator and project manager. She was an active member of the Montana chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction, forming many lifelong friendships through her involvement.
Upon retirement, Linda moved “to the mountain” on Riceville Rd to care for her mother, Dorothea, and her stepfather, Hilton. She spent eight wonderful years with her parents, feeding the birds and the deer, relaxing on the porch swing, and enjoying the mountain air. In 2020, she returned to Harrisville to be closer to her extended family.
Linda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved to paint, collect rocks from Belt Creek for her rock garden, sit on her porch in Harrisville visiting with her cousins, and taking on new home remodeling projects. She treasured time spent with friends and family and always enjoyed the occasional cold beer and glass of wine. An avid football fan, she proudly cheered on the Montana State Bobcats and the Kansas City Chiefs. Above all, her greatest joy was raising her two sons and spending time with her five grandchildren. She always said that they were the best things that ever happened to her.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Angus Fraser; her mother, Dorothea LaBow; her stepfather, Hilton LaBow; her sister, Aretta Freed; and her stepbrothers, Dick and George LaBow.
She is survived by her sons, Jason Seibel and his wife, Anabel; Chris Seibel and his wife, Kristina; her stepsister, Linda Wagner and her husband, Eric; her stepbrother, Joe LaBow and his wife, Barbara; her brother-in-law, Tom Freed; her beloved grandchildren, Connor, Kendall, Mason, Isabel, and Adelyn; and countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Linda had a strong will, a free spirit, and an incredible love for life. Memories of her will continue to bring smiles to those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date in Upstate New York and Montana.
