

Lois "Jeane" Dawson passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 3, 2014. Born on May 12, 1923, in Edmond, KS to William and Ethel McCall, Jeane was the youngest of four, brothers Jack and Rick, and a sister Justine.
She enlisted in the Women's Army Corps in 1943 where she served as a flight dispatcher at Ft. Biggs Air Base in El Paso, TX. She married Jim Dawson in 1944 in El Paso and moved to San Antonio after WWII. She and Jim moved to Bermuda when Jim was recalled to active duty and returned to San Antonio in 1952 where she entered Our Lady of the Lake College.
After receiving her Bachelor of Music at OLL she taught music at several San Antonio schools with piano lessons afforded at home. Family, music and education were the cornerstones of her life. She was a superb pianist. She was an active member of the Tuesday Musical Club and PEO for many years and served in several TMC officer positions including President and Treasurer. Jeane's husband of 67 years passed away in September 2011.
Jeane is survived by her sons, Curt Dawson and his wife, Dana and Mark Dawson; her daughter, Anita Dawson and her husband, Ron; her two grandsons, Jacob and Aaron Dawson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment will be a private ceremony at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
