Lorraine was one my favorite people in this world! A friend, a mentor, a woman I wanted to be like. I could always count on an encouraging word and a sincere smile from Sissy. Sissy loved and encouraged our children--Tylor, Justin and Autumn--and some of their fondest childhood memories were instigated by her. She and Jim adored Tylor, and he took up golf like Jim. She gave Justin her secret recipe for Chocolate Chip cookies and he still serves them with flair. She compared Autumn with "precious moments" dolls and taught her all the girly things. She personally selected Autumn's easter dress every year we lived in San Antonio! She gave us Jim's huge pool table, and we drug it to Houston and Garland. Believe me, it was the hit for hundreds of teens at our home. She was one for great surprises! I remember when she showed up at Autumn's 5-year-old carnival-themed birthday party with a bouquet of dozens of helium balloons. She looked like she would just float away! I can't name all the sweet words and kind encouragements she gave to me, but she knew how to make life happier. How to make sad days joyful. And how to show God's love to others. My Ms. Sissy...as I think through my life, there are very few memories that do NOT include Ms Sissy! Birthday parties, holidays, church, family dinners, saturday morning cartoons...she was everywhere! Ms Sissy always took such an interest in me even from a really young age. She would talk with me for hours about the stories behind the precious moments in her glass cabinet, or let me follow her cat all over the house just to see what it would do next. I would sit at her kitchen counter as she made chocolate chip cookies and we would just talk about life. Ms Sissy used to always tell me, "Precious Autumn, you be bold and tell everyone you can about your Jesus!" I'm now a full time missionary in England and I intend to do just that with every day of my life. I will miss Ms Sissy's presence in my life greatly. She is so dear to me heart.

We take peace in knowing our precious Cissy is now in the loving arms of her Lord and the love of her life, Jim. We love you, will miss you but take great peace in knowing you are in a better place. All our love,

Cheetham family, 
My name is Jana and I was one of Miss Cheetham's students in her last 6th grade Sunday School class. She was such a sweet blessing to me and my friends. She poured her heart out to us, invited us into her home and gave us all Precious Moments dolls which I still have somewhere!. Her love for the Lord and the Word of God challenged us young girls to really seek out what was true and to put God's truths on our hearts. I'm so thankful for her and for her committment to the Lord. She certainly helped shape my path to a lifetime of following after God. Thank you for sharing such a tenderhearted family member with us. 
My husband and I are praying for you and are also rejoicing with you as you celebrate Miss Cheetham's "going home." God Bless.

Lorraine has been a good friend of my family for many, many years. She was a kind and very funny person. It was a great pleasure knowing her all these years. My mother Evylin will miss her greatly. Sincerely,
