Louis H. Stumberg

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Edward Stumberg and Leonora Booth Stumberg; brother, Henry Stumberg and son, Patrick Henry Stumberg.

Louis is survived by his beautiful and noble wife of 57 years, Mary Pat Zachry Stumberg; daughter, Diana Stumberg; and sons, Herb Stumberg and Eric Stumberg and Eric's wife, Keri. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Sara Walker and her husband, Lawrence, Catherine Stumberg, Patrick Stumberg and baby Stumberg on the way; and one great-grandson, Lawson Walker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bartell and Mollie Zachry and Jim and Nancy Zachry; sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Tim Word and a brother-in-law, David Carter and his wife, Aubrey as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

We are grateful for the legacy of faith, family, friendship, patriotism, civic betterment, integrity, adventure, story-telling, avid enjoyment of the outdoors and stewardship which Dad gave us. He loved First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder; Patio Foods- the company that he, his brother and father founded; United Way - where he served as chairman and trustee; the service men and women of the armed forces - whom he served as Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army since 1979; Downtown Rotary Club of San Antonio- as a member of 60 years and President; the Boy Scouts Alamo Area Council - where he served as President; Trinity University- where he served on the Board of Trustees; Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research- where he served on the Board of Governors; Chamber of Commerce - where he was Chairman.

These organizations represent just a few - dad's heart and reach were broad. As dad once said, "Hopefully, I've had the opportunity, or at least taken advantage of the opportunity, to leave things a little better." We celebrate that Dad is finally home, where the Father has prepared a place for him.
