He was born on October 22, 1927 to Louis H. Thacker, Sr. and Zola Thacker. He proudly served in the Army during WWII and the Air Force during the Korean War. Louis was a licensed Optometrist for 55 years, and was with Texas State Optical for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Lorraine Gelatt.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Thacker; daughter, Ann Bailey and husband, Hillman; sons, John Thacker and wife, Kathleen; Charles Thacker, and wife Diana, and Samuel Thacker; stepdaughter, Linda Joy and husband, Fred; stepson, Reverend Doug Roberts and wife, Janet; seven grandchildren; and sister, Zola May March.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
Reverend Doug Roberts will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
