Louis Valadez, Jr (Papos) was born September 1, 1937 to Louis and Louisa Valadez, (Momo & Popo) and went home to be with our Savior Jesus on January 3, 2016 at the age of 78. Louis met his bride at the age of fourteen while they attended Edgar Allan Poe Middle School and were married in June of 1957, after an enlistment into the Marines. Louis was happiest when surrounded by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a larger than life hero and mentor to friends and family who weep at his passing. Generous beyond expectation, a loyal friend, and the recipient of admiration, and respect from all who knew him.
Big Lou is survived by his bride of 58 years, Maria Lupe Valadez; their children, Anna Marie, Louis Anthony, and John; his beloved sister, Irene Vargas; and his fellow Marine and brother, Ramon Valadez.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
