Lt Colonel Thomas Hunsicker returned to the "Wild Blue Yonder" on June 27, 2015, at the age of 90. He was born on October 13, 1924 in Morland, KS to Owen Asa and Maude Hunsicker. At the age of 18 he started a long distinguished military career as a pilot serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. HE graduated from Ft. Hays College and was a member of the Phi Sigma Fraternity. After retirement from the Air Force he enjoyed a second career in advertising and TV production with Mark VII Productions.
Then at the age of 72 Tom retired a second time to enjoy his passion for playing golf. He had a considerable interest in western history, the pursuit of trivial knowledge, old western movies and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was a loving caring father and cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Tomala (Tom) Gueringer; sons, Scott (Myra) and Steve (Donna), also daughter, Tara Hunsicker along with eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren with another expected in October. He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Hunsicker.
Lt. Col. Hunsicker will be buried at Fort Sam National Cemetery.
