

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Hilaria Sanchez Martinez and Gilberto Martinez, her brother Humberto Martinez, her sister Carmen Martinez, her sister Rosa Martinez Delgado, and her loving and devoted husband of more than 55 years, Rodolfo De La Rosa. She also joins many other cherished family members and extended family in eternal rest.
She is survived by Rosa Martinez Delgado’s family, including her niece and caretaker, Deborah Denise Delgado-Riffenburg, affectionately known as Mijita Linda, and her daughter, Mikayla Alexandra Robinson. She is also remembered by Michele Marie Delgado and her husband, Jose Sosa. From Humberto Martinez’s family, she is survived by Martin H. Lozano and his wife, Shawn Lozano, alongside their daughter Kristin Hall; Elizabeth D. Perez and her husband, Joseph D. Perez, along with their children Brianna Rosa Perez and Joseph David (JD) Perez II; and Katherine Martinez-Vitela and her husband, Antonio (Tony) Vitela, with their four adult children and two grandchildren. Her brother, Raymond Martinez, and his sons Michael G. Martinez and Giancarlo Martinez, along with great nephews Thomas and Gianmarco Martinez, also mourn her passing. Nephews Nicanor Mendez and Jose (Pino) De La Rosa will miss her dearly, along with her many comadres, compadres, and countless cherished family and friends.
Lucille's educational journey began with a high school diploma and was enriched by further studies that propelled her career from a telephone operator to an assistant to a Vice President at one of San Antonio's largest banks. Her career commenced as a switchboard operator, advancing to bank teller, until her move to an executive assistant role. In retirement, Lucille contributed significantly to the Hill Country Water Systems and volunteered enthusiastically at the Doris Griffin Senior One Stop Center. She was immensely proud of her roles as a daughter, sister, and especially, an aunt.
Her interests included visiting the Senior Center, enjoying music and dancing, and frequenting casinos and bingo halls. One of her favorite places was El Chaparral Restaurant, which treated her like family. Lucille had a passion for angels, which adorned her home. Her zest for life and her unconditional love for family and friends were hallmarks of her generous spirit. Lucille's ability to give without expectation and her collected memories, stored lovingly in boxes, spoke of her deep connection to her past and loved ones. She will be fondly remembered for her compassion, faith, and enduring love.
Visitation will take place at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on December 21, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes, Texas, on December 22, 2025, starting at 10:30 am. Following the mass, a Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home at 12:00 pm.
Lucille's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her memory will remain a guiding light of love and strength.
