Our Mother and friend, Lucy Hernandez Shaw, age 89, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017. She had a passion for travel, enjoying the beauty that each culture offered, learning and reading was an adventure in itself. The knowledge and experience of new things and the people that she met gave her great pleasure.
After many wonderful years, she retired from Delta Airlines. Mother left us an appreciation in the value and beliefs of everyone's culture.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, John F. Shaw and son, Rod Anthony Madrigal and her beloved parents and sisters; she is survived by her daughter, Claudia Leticia Medina and husband, Dr. Arthur A. Medina; and her daughter-in-law Anne Brendler and granddaughters: Christina Medina Pollard and Jessica Julia Koeritz; great-grandchildren: Colton, Julia, Colby, Casey, Tallulah and Tristan; sisters: Gloria Garza and Irene Ruiz along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.
Visitation will be held beginning at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1st in the chapel at Porter Loring on McCullough with recitation of the Rosary at 5:00 PM. Interment will be private.
