Lynda Joyce Srubar Davis

Lynda was born to Alfred Emil and Inez Helen Srubar on August 8, 1950 at the Nix Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1968 where she played the flute in the marching band. Her participation in the band allowed her the opportunity to march in several Fiesta parades.

Growing up she, her sister Sharon, and parents traveled to almost all of the contiguous United States visiting numerous National Parks in the process.

She received an undergraduate degree in psychology from Southwest Texas State University. She later received a Master of Arts degree in English from Southwest Texas State University as well. For several years she taught English at SWTSU. She then taught English as a Second Language at San Antonio College. For several years she served as the editor of the Journal of BioCommunications while at the University Health Science Center in San Antonio.

She retired early but she continued to take care of the home. She and Tom were able to travel to see family, friends, National Parks, and historical sites until her health slowed her down. She was a lifelong Beatles fan, especially Paul McCartney. Her favorite author was Mark Twain and she was able to see Hal Holbrooks Mark Twain Tonight several times.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Inez. She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Davis, Jr.; her sons, Charles Andrew Weisel IV and his wife, Amanda; and James Michael Weisel and his wife, Courtnie; and her sister, Sharon Counce and her husband, Jack; extended family, and numerous friends she had known for almost all of her life.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
