'Richard was a wonderful person & step dad. I'm thankful he & my mom (Norma) found each other after their spouses had passed. Even at the age of 95, he had the sharpest mind I'd ever seen. I loved talking to him about his travels around the world. My family & I were lucky to have him in our lives & will remember him dearly.

He was a very special friend and neighbor, who always had a smile and a funny story to tell when he would stop by to chat while out walking in the neighborhood. We are so thankful we had the opportunity to visit with him at his 95th Birthday celebration - he still had the twinkle in his eye even then. We have fond memories of Dick and will miss him terribly!

'I only knew Mr. Burgess as my neighbor. He was always very positive to be around. He was consistant to his daily routine and I always knew when to look for him on daily basis. He never had anything negative to say, but he seemed to be happiest around others. He made an impact on me and I was always proud to have him as a neighbor and most of all as friend.'
