Manuel G. Alvarado

Manuel G. Alvarado, age 84, went to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Manuel was a loving and caring husband and father who dedicated his entire life to his family and friends.

He graduated from Lanier High School. Manuel proudly served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army. He retired as an A.B.O certified optician from Bausch & Lomb and spent his retirement years traveling with his beloved wife, Victoria, especially to Las Vegas.

Manuel also enjoyed creating and crafting wooden projects. He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria (Vicki) L. Alvarado; his parents, Pedro and Maria Alvarado; and brothers, Pete Alvarado and Marcelo Gonzales.

He is survived by his son, Manuel, Jr and his wife, Alice and children, Johnny, Michelle, Veronica, Gracie, Manuel III and Michelle L.; daughters and husbands, Rita and Louis Farias; Anita and Dan Morales and children, Adan, Diana and Benjamin; Adelita and Ivan Phinney and children, Sarah and Evan; Margarita Gonzalez and children, Gabriel and Lauren. Also surviving him are 16 great grand children; as well as his pets, Chiquita and Buddy.

He was loved very much and will be truly missed by all that knew him.
