Manuel I. Gutierrez was called home to be with the Lord, on February 13, 2016 at the age of 79. He is preceded in death by his sister Mercedes Cortez and parents Refugia B. & Faustino Gutierrez. Manuel is survived by his beloved wife, of 62 years of marriage, Carolina Y. Gutierrez, his loving children; Manuel Christopher Gutierrez, Faustino Y. Gutierrez (Sueann), Daniel Y. Gutierrez (Christin), Elizabeth “Lisa” Lomas (Lupe), sister Estefana Garza, 11 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Harry McQuire RN, Steve Delwho RN, Andrew Donner RN and the staff at Merida Hospice, for the love and care they showed to their loved one. Visitation will begin on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Road, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Clare Catholic Church with Interment to follow at Mission South Burial Park.
