

Margaret (Margy) Carol Honeck-Gold, 81 years old, of 99 Campden Cir, San Antonio, TX, passed away to the Good Lord on December 8, 2016. Margy was born on March 27, 1935 to Florence Lusk nee Whitlock and John Lusk. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, in the Bayridge Area. She attended PS 104 and graduated from Fontbonne Hall Girls Catholic School. Her interests were diverse but she loved people and sought to be connected with groups and would assume leadership positions being her Senior High Class President and later President of The San Antonio Music Teachers Association. She obtained a degree in music education from UTSA and would later teach in schools and then her own neighborhood studio.
She was married to Edwin Honeck in April 1955 and had five children in 7 years – Susan May (Russell May), Steven Honeck (Vhie), Jeffrey Honeck, Karen Garrett (Keith Garrett), and Stewart Honeck (Kiyon). She is survived by all of her children. After the passing of Edwin, she re-married to Reuben Gold in September 1996. She has 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with more on the way.
Margy was devoted to her Catholic Faith, believing the Church’s mission of charity and the Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ. She was a member of the St. Pius X Parish. Her friends were fond of her and loved her charm and wit. Whether lifelong friends or new cyber friends doing Facebook community games, they loved Margy and she loved them.
Margy had a voracious appetite to read and to work crossword puzzles. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist and instructor. Her favorite pastimes were to play bridge with her friends. She loved to be the host and enjoyed putting on a good party.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, with a visitation/rosary to be held on December 13th from 6pm to 8pm, and a Mass Service on December 14th at St. Pius X at 11am followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
