Margaret Abdo Karam

Margaret Abdo Karam, age 95, an angel among women, lived a long fulfilled life surrounded by a devoted family, relatives, loving friends and a bonded community centered around St. George Maronite Catholic Church. Margaret passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family who loved and cherished her. She was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who spent her life caring for her family and showering them with her love and affection. Her kind, gentle, loving nature had a lasting influence on everyone whose lives she touched.

Margaret, a life-long resident of San Antonio, attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated in 1938. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society of St. George Maronite Catholic Church and a member of the Bey Aleph Sorority.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Geneive and Toufic Abdo, husband Joseph Dieb Karam, brother Sam Abdo and sisters, Elizabeth Abdo and Mary Abdo Labonville.

She is survived by her sisters Sophie Abdo Karam, age 98, and Ninette Abdo; sister-in-law Rosemary Abdo; her brother Dr. George J. Abdo and wife Donna of Houston; her sons Richard Joseph Karam and wife Peggy, Thomas Michael Karam, Dr. Harold James Karam and wife Priscilla; her daughter Peggy Genevieve Karam Saleh and husband Peter; her grandchildren Jessica Karam Oley and husband Brian, Dr. Joseph Richard Karam, Brandon Joseph Karam, Courtney Elaine Karam, Nickolas Peter Saleh, Nyla Marie Saleh, and George Peter Saleh; her great-grandchildren Jude Thomas Oley and Margaret Brinn Oley.

Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kimberly Heller for over 13 years of exceptional patient care and friendship. Sincere thanks to Darlene Price and Maria Lucelba DeLeon for their years of care, love and service. And deepest appreciation to a true angel, Nora Escamilla, Margaret's caregiver for the last 3½ years, for extending her love, companionship and true loyalty.

Services: Friday, December 4, 2015, Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a Rosary at 12:30 p.m. and Liturgy of the Word at 1:00 p.m. at St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 6070 Babcock Rd.

Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North.
