Margaret Pressler Lynch went to be with her Lord on Easter Sunday, April 9th. Born in Oak Park, Illinois on May 30, 1943, to Eugene and Mabel Pressler, she moved to San Antonio in 1962, where she attended San Antonio College and then graduated from Trinity University. She taught 4th grade until she married Terry Lybarger in 1967 and moved to Wichita, Kansas. She continued teaching there until their son, Forrest Eugene, was born in 1970. Health problems brought her back to San Antonio, where she continued to be an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, including many years as a member of SonShine Singers. She also worked as a nurse’s aide. Margaret married Donald Ray Lynch in 1982, who predeceased her in 2003. In September 2008, she moved to Stonebrook Manor, and then Chandler Center, and finally to Memorial Medical Nursing Center. She remained in San Antonio all those years and stayed in touch with family and friends near and far through prolific correspondence, whether written on a cheery fluorescent notecard or tucked in an envelope sealed with stickers.
At Memorial she discovered adult coloring books and spent many hours coloring in them. She enjoyed giving her creations to staff, as well as mailing them to her many friends, particularly from SonShine Singers.
She is survived by her son, Forrest Eugene Lybarger, and wife Teresa; sister, Ruth Subramanian, and husband, Mani; grandchildren, Nathan (Maggie), Brian, Austin, Avery, Hailey (Damian), Hanna, Phillip, Hannah, Taylor, Tyler, Katelyn, Brianna, Neal, Stephen, Nina and the late Wayne; great grandchildren, Ryan, Niko, Nayeli, Damian, Noeli, and Emiliano; nephew, Ravi Subramanian; and niece, Meera Subramanian. Her eldest sister, Mabel Jean (Mickey) Oppenhagen, predeceased Margaret in 1998.
A special thank you to Memorial Medical Nursing Center for their loving care of Margaret.
Family will receive guests on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church, 319 Mulberry Avenue.
Dr. Matt Homeyer & Dr. Leslie Hollon PhD. will officiate. Interment will follow at San Jose Burial Park.
