

Born in Louisville, KY March 30, 1915, while her father was attending seminary, Maggie, the oldest daughter of Arthur Ivey Caudle and Anne Lydia Bright Caudle grew up in Virginia, married and lived in Washington, D. C., moved to San Antonio with her young son in 1949 and stayed 22 years.
She was with Pitluk Advertising as writer/producer in radio, TV and print.
In 1969 she was listed as an Advertising Executive in "Who's Who of American Women."
She also was a reporter for Voice of America.
Her interviews were part of VOA's Worldwide English Broadcasts.
She was President of local chapters of American Woman in Radio and Television, and Theta Sigma Phi, now Women in Communications.
In 1970 she received Theta Sig's Headliner Award.
Also she was active in the San Antonio Advertising Club.
Maggie was a member of Central Christian Church where she taught adult Bible classes, and for two years Secretary of the Board.
She served on the Executive Board of the Lighthouse for ten years, and in 1972 was made an Honorary Lifetime Member.
In 1971 Maggie moved back to Washington, D. C. and was a writer in the Office of Public Affairs, Food and Drug Administration.
In 1974 she was Alumnae Day speaker at her alma mater, Meredith College, Raleigh, N. C.
She became a member of the National Press Club in 1980.
After retirement she was active in Leisure World, MD, a 6, 000 person retirement community where she appeared on stage in major productions of the theater group, presented book reviews, and produced travel slide shows for the Camera Club.
She traveled in more than 50 countries around the world.
In 1993 Maggie returned to San Antonio to live near her family.
In 1995 she joined Trinity Baptist Church.
On September 7, 2001, she married the widowed Clarence Balser who she had known since their days at Central Christian.
Besides Clarence, she is survived by her son, Robert L. Bob Morrison and his wife Kay; also three granddaughters, Mrs. Stephanie Aaron, Mrs. Suzanne Saathoff, and Mrs. Catherine Marvin, all of San Antonio; also five great-grandchildren; also a sister, Mrs. Edward Deagle, and a niece, Mrs. Jose Lengua, of Virginia.
