Margaret Mary Salisbury

Margaret was born in La Grange, Texas to Charles and Hattie Meyer on October 23, 1932. She married Harrison Brian Salisbury on January 8th, 1955, in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, Texas in 1954 with a B.A. in Education. She later earned a Masters Degree in Education in 1975 from UTSA. She worked as an Elementary School Teacher in El Paso, Texas for St Joseph’s School for Girls and then 14 years later she worked as an elementary school teacher and Principal at Southwest Independent School District for 25 years. She was a loving mother who raised 6 successful children and helped raise countless grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of The Who’s Who in Education, American Association of University Women, Texas State Reading Association, Pastoral Council at The Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church and Eucharistic Minister at Wilford Hall Hospital.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Harrison B. Salisbury, daughter Kathleen M. Weiss, and granddaughter Stephanie Wilson.

Margaret is survived by her children Elaine M. Boland (husband Michael), David H. Salisbury (wife Nita), Stephen A. Salisbury, Mark T. Salisbury (wife Evelyn) and Margaret M. Hayes (husband Jeff), sister Bernice Tatum, 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Margaret will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232. A rosary will be recited on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 6:00 PM, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, 7990 Military Drive W, San Antonio, TX 78227.
